Please Help The Huber Family

On behalf of the Huber family, we are incredibly heartbroken to have to share the news of the untimely passing of Mike Huber.  Mike was a wonderful Father, Husband, Son, Brother and Friend who will always be missed by his many friends and family.  Mike is survived by his wife Jessica, daughter Taylor (age 22) and twin boys Miles and Ronin (age 12).

About Mike
Mike grew up in San Jose, California and attended Latimer Elementary school, Castro Junior High School and Prospect High School where he graduated in 1993.   Anyone that knew Mike knew him as a great friend and a caring person.  He was always quick to offer help to his friends when they needed it and wasn't afraid to let them know when he thought they were not doing the right thing.  He truly was a genuine friend.

Later in life, Mike was diagnosed with an aggressive  case of diabetes which resulted in a variety of severe medical problems.  Over time, his condition worsened and led to him needing several surgeries in an effort to treat his advancing illness.  This became difficult to manage for his family as he required constant medical care.

While Mike needed continuous medical care, his wife Jessica had the added strain of having to solely care for the rest of the family including their son Miles, who has a severe form of autism, is non-verbal and in turn requires a great deal of care and support on his own.

Eventually, the need to provide care to both Mike and Miles proved to be an insurmountable challenge as Mike's illness progressed.  He was subsequently moved to a skilled nursing facility in the hope that they would be able to treat his illness and hopefully help him recover while Jessica could focus on caring for Miles and the rest of the family.

In the midst of this, the COVID Pandemic began and resulted in the nursing facility being locked down and closed to visitors, which made it impossible for Mike's family or friends to visit him.  Sadly, the nursing facility suffered an outbreak of COVID and unfortunately Mike was struck by the virus.

The addition of COVID on top of his already frail condition was too much for his body to handle and he passed away on January 6th of this year.   Mike was a loving husband and father, a true friend and brother and will always be warmly remembered by those who knew him and loved him.

How You Can Help
Your donation will be used to pay for medical and funeral expenses as well as to provide ongoing financial support to his family.   While those afflicted with autism receive assistance and support while they are minors, much of that help will disappear as Miles ages into an adult and he will need both financial and medical support for the rest of his natural life.  This will make it nearly impossible for Jessica to replace Mike, who was the main source of income for the family, and thus why we are kindly asking for your financial help today.

Any amount that you donate will be greatly appreciated and please know that the Huber family is extremely grateful for the support and condolences that they receive from everyone.

Mike loved his wife and children deeply and while we can never replace him or his love for them, we can help ensure that his family will be cared for throughout this difficult time and into the future with the help of your donation today.

Please Share This
We also ask that you share this fundraiser with anyone that knew Mike, went to school or worked with him or whom you think would like to help a grieving family in need.  Because the Huber family will need ongoing financial support, we intend to keep this fundraiser going for as long as possible and will provide updates when we can.

Finally, please keep Mike's family in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with the loss of their husband and father.
