Hubbard Street Pre-Pro Program

Hello there! I am so excited to announce my acceptance into Hubbard Street’s Pre-Professional summer intensive, a four-week program in Chicago for dancers 18 and up in the process of pursuing a career in modern dance. Hubbard Street is an incredible dance company that I dream of someday being able to dance with, and the best way to achieve this goal is by building connections through attending summer intensives. Even if we set aside all of the logistical reasons, the fact of the matter is that dance is the great love of my life, and I can't foresee a time where that love will even begin to falter, and to spend four weeks dancing with one of the most respected modern dance companies in the world would be nothing short of a dream come true. Unfortunately for me, the dance world, though lovely, is wildly expensive. This is where you come in! In order to take this phenomenal opportunity and further my skill as a well-rounded artist, I am in dire need of financial help. 2017 is an exciting year for me, as I will be graduating from the Tacoma School of the Arts High School in June starting at Reed college (exciting!) in August. Due to the exorbitant cost of attending college, this year it is particularly hard for my family and I to gather the money needed to send me to Chicago, making the process of fundraising more important now than ever! Though I will be working for the first half of summer, the majority of that money will go towards helping pay my college bills. With your help, I could fundraise the money needed for the tuition price ($2400) and the cost for food and air fare ($500 each). I am lucky enough to be staying with a family friend in the city and will not have to worry about housing expenses.
