Born Without a Penis, Trapped in Pain – Help Aws from Yemen

Donation protected
My name is Fareez Abrahim and I am to tell you the tragic story of my friend Hanan and her son Aws. The following is an excerpt from her own words.

Hello everyone, I'm Hanan from Yemen and Aws is my son, my heartbeat, my entire world. He is 6 years old, and since the day he was born, I’ve watched him suffer in ways no child should ever have to endure.

Aws was born with a rare and heartbreaking condition—he has no visible penis, and every time he drinks even a drop of water, it leaks out of an abnormal opening near his anus. He cannot urinate like other children. He lives in diapers, constantly wet, his skin raw and burning with infections. He cries in pain, and I cry with him—because I can’t do anything to ease his suffering. I see the fear in his eyes, the questions he doesn’t yet know or how to ask. And I carry the crushing weight of not being able to give him the care he desperately needs.

Doctors have told us Aws needs multiple complex surgeries to rebuild his urinary system and give him a chance at a normal life. These operations require specialized care, imaging, hospital stays, and that it may take years of treatment and recovery.

My husband and I are both unemployed. We live in Sana’a, where war and poverty have made survival nearly impossible. We can barely afford food for Aws, let alone medicine or surgery. Every day, we fight to buy him diapers, to clean his wounds, to calm his cries. And every night, I go to sleep afraid—afraid that something will happen to him while we wait and hope for a miracle that never comes.

But today, I am swallowing my pride and writing to you. I am begging you, from the depths of a mother’s heart: please help me save my son. I don’t want pity. I want hope. I want Aws to grow up, to play, to smile without pain. I want him to go to school without shame. I want him to live.

To everyone who may consider helping, I promise full honesty and transparency. All of Aws’s medical reports and hospital documents will be posted throughout his treatment, and every donation we receive will go directly to us here in Sana’a through trusted money transfer services like MoneyGram. This is real. Aws is real. His pain is real. And our need is urgent.

Please, don’t scroll past. If you were in my place—if this was your child—you would be pleading too. Every dollar you donate is a prayer answered. Every share of this story is a lifeline. You may be far away, but your kindness could reach us here and save my son’s life.

Be the miracle my child is waiting for. I have no one else to turn to but God, and now, you. Please spread the word and post a comment below that might help.

Thank you very much

God bless you

Aws' parents are Jamal Alhamdani and Hanan Albadani. His family is extremely poor. Their house has been partially demolished due to the ongoing war. Money has been scarce for them and they need our help.

Any money that hasn't been used for the house or food has gone to doctor visits. There is a medical report from 2021, shortly after Aws was born, that details his abnormalities. These include the absence of an anterior abdominal wall or urinary blader, absence of visible penis and an abnormal anal opening. The procedure will require an entire reconstruction of his urinary system and require several surgeries. This is a terrifying thought process for both the parents and child. But the pain and suffering of the last 6 years has led them to make this courageous step. A recent doctor visit had stated that Aws may need to travel to India to get the appropriate medical care. That in itself is a scary proposition for a family that has very little to their name.

How Your Donation Will Help

Every dollar you give will go directly to Aws' family through a trusted money transfer service such as MoneyGram. Your generosity will cover:

✅ Medical Expenses – surgeries, check ups and necessary testing
✅ Accommodation – a safe place to stay in Sana’a (or elsewhere if doctors determine), where Aws will receive his treatment
✅ Food & Daily Needs – so his parents can focus on his care, not survival
✅ Transportation – to and from the hospital, ensuring Aws never misses an appointment

Full Transparency

Aws' parents will share medical reports, receipts, and treatment updates so you can see exactly how your donations are making a difference.

This Family is Counting on You
