Hi, I'm Justin and this is Kim. We have had a horrible reaction to COVID-19 with medical complications related to it! I was doing okay at hom , until one day I wasn't. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital and they admitted me to the ICU for care for my complications due to COVID-19. It turns out that I had pneumonia, an pulmonary embolism, a gastrointestinal bleed and and a clot in my leg and my lungs. We spend quite a few days receiving blood transfusions during my hospitalization and was finally stable enough to go home with supportive care. I was in the ICU for 10 days and had amazing care by the nurses, doctors, and staff! I cannot say enough about how great the care was that I received even during critical staffing and double patient loads. I did spent two weeks at home before going by ambulance to Salem Hospital for 10 days of care! During this time I lost 60 pounds and once I was discharged I have been on home oxygen for support, but thankfully weaning off that!! It looks like it may be quite some time before I can return to my work full time. I am doing my best to get healthy, eating well, but it will be a long road of recovery! I take walks and do my physical therapy around the house and take small road trips to the store to get out of the house. Using my cane is certainly a humbling experience!.
I simply ask if you have the resources to help out with my everyday living expenses, it would be greatly appreciated. I decided to transition to a new job in the late fall of 2021 and my insurance doesn't begin for another month. We are trying our best to cover the expenses ourselves, but need to reach out to our friends and loved ones for help and support. I don't ask this lightly and we know that everyone could be in the same situation at any point.
I wish each of you good health & prosperity in the future and hope that you never experience this type of event!
God bless each of you and when we are able to give back, please be assured we will!
With great respect and appreciation for anything you can do to help! We also are asking people who are able to donate blood to do so! We were fortunate enough to have that resource that saved Justin's life!
With great gratitude and appreciation of any help and support! If what you are able to do is send prayers we welcome that as much as any other donation or support!
