Our Original Heroes murals across Australia

Recently Tim was able to create this mural in our new Prime Minister's electorate at the corner of Parramatta Rd and Crystal St Petersham, close to the Sydney CBD. He collaborated with Aboriginal artist Frank Wright. The mural features portraits of Barangaroo and Bennelong, two well-known Aboriginals from our early colonial past. This is the first time they have been honoured, in this visual way in public art in 234 years -

Tim wants to repeat these heroic images around Sydney and in cities and towns across Australia. You can make it happen! Please donate to this worthy cause and share it with all your friends!

Our State Governments honour our English invaders with hundreds of public statues of Captain Cook, Govenor Phillip, etc. but they will not approve of nor support Public Art images of Aboriginal Heroes from our past.

This mural is titled "Our Original Heroes." Tim's previous murals at Redfern and Petersham were titled "The subtle violence of social silence."

Your donation will cover the cost of materials, production of each mural, transporting the murals to the sites, and the installation of each mural. Tim and Frank will collaborate on each mural.

 

Tim was first taught to paint by an Aboriginal artist friend. He went on to become known all over the world for his murals and sculptures. In 2017 Tim Guider became the first Australian artist to win a major contemporary art medal overseas when his Enlightenment light sculptures were awarded the first place gold medal at the Florence Contemporary Art Biennale in Italy where over 400 artists from more than 70 countries competed.
