Clare Murphy here looking for your support towards an amazing opportunity that has come my way. I have been selected to be part of a unique leadership growth experience called Zebra Crossing Adventures (ZCA). ZCA brings diverse leaders to South Africa to learn through cultural experiences.
*The purpose of this trip is not to serve or save Africa, but to learn FROM Africans about the value of community and leadership.*
I, along with a team including people of different ages, cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and faiths will be going to Cape Town from May 17-26th, 2019.
While in Cape Town, we will be staying in the newest Sustainable Giving Home, where 90% of the profits from our stay will go towards providing educational opportunities/scholarships for local, underprivileged South African youth.
We will also be working with Hoops 4 Hope - a basketball organization that uses sport as a platform to give children and young adults the tools needed to overcome the challenges of living in disadvantaged communities. Their slogan is, "UBUNTU Matters", which is an African notion of unity. It is the notion that every human is part of a greater whole. I will have the opportunity to become part of this greater whole, not just through basketball, but through the entire ZCA experience that encompasses a theme of social justice and creating consciousness and awareness in people.
I will be working incredibly hard to save as much of my own money as I can to make this trip possible. However, any help I can get toward raising the funds for this extraordinary experience would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please reach out because I would be happy to chat!
