Emergency Help for David Allen's Family After Covid-19 and a Stroke

In the past year David's family has been hit by a title wave of misfortune. It started when David and his wife, Marisa, both lost their jobs. They were in the process of trying to find other work when covid-19 hit, and the job market virtually disappeared within their professions. David spent a tireless amount of hours starting an online business in order to pay the bills but, it was just draining their savings even more. Things were finally looking up when David took two interviews for new jobs which would have been a salvation but then, David caught the Delta variant of Covid-19 and became extremely ill, and bed ridden. Then, his wife Marisa and his 6 yr old son, who is autistic, caught covid-19.

At this point the bills have overtaken them. Their savings has been depleted, their 401k's have been emptied and used, their credit cards have been maxed out, and both of their vehicles repossessed. To top all of this, last week the home owner notified Marisa that the house has become a burden, and is going to be sold.  Marisa is currently packing to move with no suitable place to go and no money for moving expenses.

You would think that this was enough, and more than any one family could possibly endure but, there is more...   In early August David suffered a Hemorrhagic Stroke. He has lost use of his left side and is now hospitalized at Sutter hospital in San Fransisco, CA. He is receiving good care but, they are having trouble getting him to remain calm when he knows his family is suffering and in need of him. Along with suffering from this anxiety, David is also fighting depression and could use regular visits from his wife but, with no car, and living 1.5 hrs. away from the hospital, Marisa can't even afford to visit and comfort him.

Update:  David has now been transferred to a hospital that is only 30min. away and Marisa has been able to visit him a couple of times.  David has regained partial use of his left arm and leg but, still has a long way to go.   This is a very positive sign and we are all happy for this progress!

Update 9/17/2021 :  David is still in the hospital and has started having seizures.  The doctors are trying to figure out what part of the brain is causing them.

(People, if you don't have an underlying condition where it will kill you to take the vaccine... please take it... please!  People who catch covid-19 are 7.5 times more likely to have a stroke whether they show symptoms or not.)

Together, David and Marisa have four children.  They desperately need our support money for the basics.... food, rent, utilities, medical expenses, etc.   I am trying to help David's wife find a used vehicle that will be dependable.  I need some help in both finding and purchasing something suitable as well as insuring the vehicle with basic coverage. I am hoping to find them a minivan that is in good working order.   If anyone knows of someone or has a vehicle of their own that they can part with, please contact me.   Honestly, any dependable vehicle that will hold kids and a car seat will work.

This is David with one of his three daughters Cami, and his son Kaden.

David is one of the kindest and most loving fathers I know.

Marisa and David at their wedding. I have known David for well over a decade, and I met his wife for the first time while choreographing, and teaching them their wedding dance. The love between them is undeniable, and their dance brought tears to my eyes.

Please, let's help David and his Family get back on their feet...

Please Note:  There has been some confusion as to why it says that I, Edwin Purselle, will benefit from this Go Fund Me campaign on the donations page.  In short, Marisa has asked me to be the executor of the money that you donate until David is out of the hospital and can take it over,  and your funds will be passing through my account before they reach Marisa and David.  In no way am I personally benefitting from your donations!

Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any other concerns or questions, you all have my number.  And if you are one of David or Marisa's friends or family members, feel free to call Marisa.  David is in the hospital and can not easily talk at this time.  We are hoping that this changes in the near future.

UPDATE:  Thank you to everyone who is helping so far.   Marisa has been working everyday to find work, and we are currently very close to being able to afford a used vehicle.  If any of you have job opportunities, Marisa has a Masters Degree in Science In Management.  She is an extremely capable person that has many valuable skill sets.  She has held high level, demanding jobs in the past, and is used to working hard.    Marisa would be happy to share her resume with anyone if you know of an opportunity.

Thank you again for any help, no matter how big or how small... thank you, and God Bless you!
