As some of you may know, and for those who don’t, my kids and I were renting this house when, unknowingly, the house went into foreclosure while we were still residing here. I was totally unaware of the situation. The previous landlord (who once owned the home) was taking monthly rent from me for a long time without paying the note on the house. Unfortunately, there’s no law in my state that protects renters from this kind of thing. In the 2 1/2 years my kids and I lived here, I paid half of what the previous owner bought it for. We had a lease agreement, but I’ve learned all that really does is protect the landlord, as he gets to keep all that money I’ve paid, plus the deposit.

Needless to say, without my knowledge, the house had already been posted for auction and another company bought it. I have been talking with them, and they said the only thing they can do is sell me the home. I, however, would need to put a down payment. My kids love this little home and so do I. I unfortunately can’t come up with that type of down payment in such a short amount of time. I’m asking for donations so we can keep our home.
