Hsu Ling Chen Family Fund

My sister of choice Hsu Lin Chen who was born in Tai Pei in 1957 passed away July  2, 2020.  Hsu Ling literally translates to Sunshine and she always strove to bring sunshine to anyone who crossed her path. She spent countless hours volunteering at church and at school libraries. You could always count on her to be in the thick of any activity that her sons were involved in. Hsu Ling was a great Hilliard Darby "Band Mom". She was a fixture in the concession stand at any event where the marching band performed.  Hsu Ling was also joyous when serving her fellows at the Columbus Ohio Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She truly earned her nick name "Sunshine Lady" and always greeted each day with a smile and sunny disposition.

Hsu Ling began declining in health towards the end of 2019 and entered the hospital the first week of February 2020. Hsu Lin was diagnosed with early onset dementia. Her mental and physical health declined rapidly. Hsu Lin had a repeated visits to various hospitals for several reasons and needed several surgeries between her times at a long term nursing care facility. She never returned home. Hsu Ling's husband and her boys are left devastated at the loss of their sunshine. The protracted hospitalizations and treatments also left them with huge medical bills. If this is not difficult enough, she had no life insurance to help defray her funeral expenses. 

It would help to bring back a little sun light for the Chens if folks could contribute any amount to help them pay off medical expenses and give her a dignified funeral. All donations will go directly to Hsu Ling's husband, Hai Peng.  Please think about all of the times our dear Sunshine Lady brightened your or someone else's day and give what you can to honor her memory and help her family.
