Walt and Susie need some saviors

Donation protected
On January 10th of this year my parents left our Family Christmas celebration in Farmington.  They had a long drive in the snow (which they HATE), and made it ALMOST back to home base when their truck engine blew, stranding them,  Aubrey, and their 3 year old great-grandson, Briley on the side of the road.  After several hours of waiting in a truck without heat (in January) an  Arizona State patrolman stopped to help, and was eventually able to get them a tow truck.  The closest town was still over an hour away from their house so they stayed in what seemed to be the only hotel in the town.  My dad walked several miles, late at night to get them all food, and when he finally arrived back at the hotel he was frozen to the bone, but was thankful for a safe place to lay his head for the night.  A friend of my dad's was able to retrieve the truck a few days later and took it to a shop who has just recently given them an estimate of $10,000 for a new engine.

If you know my parents then you know they have always been everyone else's saviors.  Over thier 46 years together they have dedicated their lives to helping others and rescuing friends in need.  They are leaders in their church, and for the past several years they have spent long hours at the local food bank arranging meals for those who cannot afford healthy meals. I can remember when I was a little girl, my parents would always seek out a family in need during the holidays, and provide a Christmas meal, with enough turkey or ham to feed an army, and presents for any children.  They never asked for anything in return and frequently my dad would dress up as Santa Clause and the family would never know who he was.  I remember recently when my parents helped a family in need by allowing them to live rent free on their property.  My dad would  haul water  10 miles for this same family...not because he wanted anything in return, but because he has such an amazing heart.  Whenever I call my mom, she is usually cooking a meal for an event, putting together a baby shower for a church member, or volunteering her time at the local school.
My parents would never dream of asking for help and when they find out that I am doing this we may need to make a "get Peggy out of the hospital" fund.  In all seriousness, my parents are very humble and very proud of the life they have built, but now it's time that we are their saviors.  They, like many people are on a fixed income and have little resources to make $10,000 in such a short amount of time.  I am asking everyone who has ever had any interaction with my parents to either please donate just a few dollars (or many dollars), or to pass this along to spread the word.
My daughter, Aubrey, recently made a statement that I feel is so true.  She said "Mom, they have always been heroes to everyone else, but sometimes even heroes need a little bit of help.
Your helping hand would mean so much to two people who have given their lives to saving others.
