Support Kim McLeod

Kim McLeod is a community hero.

As somoene who has been part of Kim's life the last decade, I wanted to do something to help her right now because she needs help - and I know I am not the only person who wants to help her so this GoFundMe will make it easy for everyone who loves Kim to do so.

She has been a foster parent for almost two decades and on November 5th,  she lost the child she has fostered, loved and raised for the last 16 years.

Her boy was 18.   He was a miracle child, he was never expected to make it to this age but because of Kim's love and care, he did.

She has been a dedicated 24/7 caregiver, mother, confident, and friend who has selflessly given much of her life to this child who needed her.  

She is now grieving that loss and needs the love, support and financial aid of her community as she transitions through this grief and loss towards the next chapter of her life.

This money will be used to support her living expenses. To help pay her rent, food and other expenses while she decides how she will continue on her life path. 

Kim has been a foster parent for almost two decades,  the last 16 years have been spent with a medically fragile child who could not be without her.  She has been unable to work while she cares for this child. She has been a community hero and now needs our love and support. 

When you are a foster parent, the aid you receive stops after the loss of a child.  

It means a lot to me to do something to give back to her.  It's not very often you meet someone who is willing to choose a child who needs the support this one did, and then dedicate the next 16 years of their life selflessly caring. 

This loss will be crushing for her in many ways. Let's help her grieve without having to stress about money in the short term.
