I have been married 13yrs to my husband Kevin. We have 2 kids, 9 and 12. I was diagnosed with cancer apx 2 weeks before we got married. I told him if he wanted to back out I would understand. He obviously said no and we would make it through. Little did he know that in 13 years his wife would have many many surgeries, and more medical bills than any person should have. 8 years ago I was diagnosed with lupus. That's where a majority of the bills come into play. In addition to the excruciating joint and muscle pain lupus has caused all of my organ systems damage. From my brain to my bladder! I have currently exhausted all conventional treatments so our next step is a Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT). I will have to be in Chicago for approximately 3-4 months during this process. The doctor in Chicago is the only one in the nation performing HSCT for autoimmune diseases. I have already been to Chicago for testing to see if I am eligible and I am but sadly that 1 week trip drained all we had saved. Thankfully our insurance WILL pay toward it but my part with living expenses and such we will need to raise apx $25,000. I thank all of you for prayers and support!
