I have had Chloe, a fun loving female Calico cat, since she was 4-5 months old, a rescue that my mom found in a park in La Jolla. She has been my baby for 11 years now and recently has had an obsession with sneaking into rooms, out of the house, etc. She snuck out of the house on the night of 1/17 without anyone knowing and we have been looking for her ever since, posting ads everywhere and hanging and passing out flyers, worried because of the coyotes in the neighborhood and her being weak from a past injury to her ribs. We got a call tonight 1/20 from a young man who said he thinks he saw her git hit by a car down the street about a mile away. We immediately got in the car and drove over, where we saw her laying in the middle of the road, not moving. I immediately got out and noticed her leg started moving and I grabbed her right away and we rushed her to the nearest vet emergency hospital. After evaluation, the doctor told us she is in a state of shock, in coma state, and has a 50% chance of making it. She is now in treatment in ICU overnight and we were told we would get an update in the AM. They will have to do a CT scan on her if she makes it through. The bill is going to be around $4,600 before any additional things she might need afterwards, but we are just taking it one step at a time. (Updated invoice as of 1/25 is $8,000!) Any help from friends & family would be greatly appreciated towards the vet costs. Thank you to all the neighbors who have been so helpful and supportive through our search for Chloe and we are just hoping and praying she makes it through this and that she still has one of her 9 lives left!
