Junior National Young Leaders Conference

Hello Friends and Family,
My name is Camdyn L. Harris and I have some exciting news to share. I was nominated by my 7th-grade teacher for the opportunity to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, DC on July 24th-29th 2021. Students are nominated for the conference who possess strong leadership potential and have achieved academic excellence.

Currently, I am a student at West Side Middle School in Charleston, WV, formally known as Stonewall Jackson Middle School. Some of you know that I and others in the community worked with the county and the board of education to successfully get the name changed to one more inclusive of the community.
I would like to attend this conference to help improve my communication skills, gain confidence in public speaking, and work on my personal leadership skills much of what I had to do in the process of changing the name of the school.
I am asking for your continued support for my personal development through a financial donation. The cost to attend the conference is $2495.00. This includes instruction, housing, meals, supervision, and basic supplies. The cost does not include the money I need to travel to and from Charleston and DC or the daily uniform I am required to wear. No amount is too small and I thank you in advance for any gift you feel comfortable contributing.
