Help Chloe Attend BADA

Hi, my name is Chloe McFarlane, I’m a senior drama major at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of the Arts, an avid play reader, film fanatic, and aspiring actor. I’m fundraising for a summer study abroad opportunity.

 

My story starts in the middle of quarantine. While stuck at home, I felt I missed out on a ton of incredible opportunities to develop my craft. But I didn’t let that get me down. I promised that next year, I would apply to as many summer conservatories as I could in hopes of getting into one.

 

Fast forward to this year, I definitely didn’t shy away from the application process. I spent days tweaking personal statements, researching programs like Guildhall, LAMDA, RADA, RCS, investing my money in application fees, and working my audition pieces with friends, family, and drama teachers.

 

On March 11th, I got a decision back. Eager and anxious, I clicked the email; this email would reveal if my dream of spending my summer doing what I love would either be crushed under the words “we regret to inform you…” or not.

 

I read the email and… I got into the British American Drama Academy, a school stationed in Oxford and dedicated to practical and technical teaching of Shakespeare. The tuition is $3,250, room and board is around $3,150, and airfare is around $500.

 

I’ve done the hardest part, I’m only a few steps away from making my dream a reality.
