Hi, my name is Shauna...my sister Melissa & I are fundraising to help our stepfather, who had a serious, life-threatening accident last weekend. He has suffered severe brain & head trauma. He is currently sedated in the ICU at our local trauma center on a vent, feeding tube, etc. The extent of the damage done is still unknown as we wait patiently for him to be cleared to begin to come off the sedative medications and for him to wake up. The doctors do acknowledge that Rich will need months of intense inpatient and outpatient therapy, and the cost of those therapies to get rehabilitated is outrageous yet necessary. Our stepdad is a music teacher...he teaches children...whom we know are missing him terribly. He is a provider to our mother and will not be able to return to work. The extent of the long-term injury is still unknown but is affecting our mother now with no income to pay, prepare for the hospital bills and then onto the extensive therapies needed for Rich to recover. He will be solely depend on our mother when he was the sole provider before this tragic accident. Please help if you can- we love him so much and need financial help to carry on bills, rent, medical bills, therapies etc. as we patiently await Rich's recovery. Thank you.
