Peter & I moved to Redondo Beach (CA), from Lawndale (CA), in January 2011, to give our children, Isaiah and Naomi, an opportunity to receive a better education. We couldn’t afford to move to Redondo Beach, housing was, and still is, expensive because of its close proximity to the beach, but our children are worth the sacrifice.
In 2011 Leuzinger, which would've been our home school in Lawndale, was ranked amongst the 1000 lowest academic achieving schools in the LA County. We couldn't apply for a permit to attend any other school, because Centinela Valley Union High School District (CVUHSD) wouldn't "release" any student(s) within their district boundaries, hence our move to Redondo.
A year after our move to Redondo our daughter, NAOMI TALISA LEILUA, developed a skill that we never thought would turn into her passion, playing VOLLEYBALL. Within these past two years Naomi has learned to play the game from top notch coaches, and alongside girls who've already had years of volleyball experience. Our move to Redondo provided Naomi with the opportunity to attend a great school, receive a good education and to play volleyball at an advanced level, all of which she wouldn't have received if Peter & I decided to accept our circumstances, and remained in Lawndale.
Naomi still has a lot to learn, but many coaches have already recognized her for her athleticism, coach-able attitude, competiveness, ability to jump, leadership skills, and most of all, for her spontaneous sense of humor. SURFSIDE VOLLEYBALL CLUB has recruited Naomi and has graciously offered her a spot on their 16-1’s team. We are looking for FAMILY & FRIENDS who will help US pay for Naomi's tuition at Surfside, so that she can continue to develop her volleyball skills, and reach her full potential as a student-athlete.
Peter and I are not looking to raise the entire tuition amount ($4,350), we will pay what we can afford on a monthly basis, but any amount you can donate, whether big or small, would be a tremendous blessing.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Go Fund Me page.
