Help prevent homelessness and reunite a family!
Immediate support needed for gas and groceries!
Urgent support is needed to keep a mother and her special needs son fed and housed in Boston, and further support is needed to help them return to the Kansas City area so that they can find stable housing and reunite with their daughter/sister.
Julia is a loving mother of a teen daughter and nine-year-old son who is autistic. Due to a lack of housing in the winter months, Julia and her son Isaiah traveled to the east coast a year and half ago, where Julia hoped to find housing help from family temporarily until she could return to Kansas City, where she shares custody of her daughter Norah with her daughter’s father. Due to a number of very difficult circumstances, it has not been possible for them to return, and now they are on the brink of homelessness, as they must vacate their current apartment on April 5, without a place to go. To make matters even more complicated, Julia’s account balance is extremely low, and she has no way to purchase gas or groceries so that she can get Isaiah to school and feed him and herself.
If you can give now to help, please do!
In the long term, it is far more feasible for Julia to find an affordable place to live in Kansas City, and the family needs to be together. All funds raised after the emergency need is met will go toward establishing a home for Julia and Isaiah in Kansas City, where they can once again be a part of Norah’s life. Because Julia and Isaiah lived in the Kansas City area for most of Isaiah’s life, this will allow them to return to the school and services that Isaiah had before, making the transition smooth. The only thing needed is money. Julia and Isaiah need money to travel from Boston to Kansas City, and once there, they will need deposit and rent covered for a minimum of six months while they settle in and J finds employment. Any amount is welcome!
