Dear friends, I am a PhD student at Wycliffe College, Toronto. For my dissertation work, I am looking at the relationship between truth Scripture and ecclesiastical polity in the 16th and 17th centuries. My hope with the work I'm doing is to provide insight for how these issues have shaped the faith and the church polity we've received, and how we might then live faithfully into the future. Along with doing my PhD work, I have been working half time in a church plant/reboot in the downtown core of Toronto. My goal, upon finishing my dissertation, is to work as a church planter, to catechize and form disciples through education and fellowship, and to work in the diocesan, National, Communion and ecumenical levels of governance and relationship, in order to help build up and to help reform the Church catholic. Wycliffe College serves to provide me with the common life of fellowship and prayer I need, along with providing me residence within my parish boundaries. Living here is essential in helping me to balance an extremely busy and demanding schedule and remaining centered by the common life of Scripture, prayer worship and fellowship it offers. Unfortunately, due to unexpected medical expenses last year, related to my type 1 diabetes, I am unable to pay my residence fees and now need $10 100 to support my desire to continue both my doctorate and my parish work.
