Hi, my name is Marie Tarantino and I am doing a fundraiser for my son, Devon Tarantino, who has been struggling with major medical problems. It started in with having Covid-19 twice less than 6 months apart. Covid-19 in late January 2022 resulted in an enlarged heart. The 2nd time, Devon had a TIA from complications. Since June 23, 2022, Devon has had neurological problems that has taken doctors the last 5 months to diagnose and make a treatment plan. The neurological problems are coming from a 22cm syringomyelia that has developed in his cervical spine. Devon will now need to undergo surgery to decompress the pressure that the syringomyelia is putting on his brain stem by removing part of the base of the skull, removing C-1, and cauterizing the tonsils of the brain stem. He has been off work since June 23, 2022. He is scheduled to have surgery December 7, 2022 with a large patient responsibility that must be paid for prior to having the surgery. Between that, and recovery time of at least another 3-5 months, my son is in need of help. He is the type of man that is always thinking about others and there for anyone in need. I would like to be able to show that kind of kindness now that he is the one in need. In September, I temporarily moved from my home in Wisconsin to be closer to him, care for him, advocate for him, and financially help the best I can. Unfortunately, I can only do so much.
