UPDATE Feb. 1, 2025: Abigail is making progress at Kessler Rehabilitation Center. Unfortunately, the road to recovery is long and it is impossible to know if she will make a full recovery. The challenges of her disabilities are being dealt with, but she needs several home modifications, a wheelchair accessible vehicle, and round the clock care. If you can find it in your heart to donate for the first time or add to an existing donation, please lend a helping hand to Abigail. Her family appreciates any assistance you may provide.

This holiday season, when we are all spending our hard-earned money buying gifts for friends and family, I wonder if you would consider contributing what you can spare to aid Abigail Cruz-Martinez. Abigail is my wife’s, 21-year-old niece, who was in a serious car accident on November 21st. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and a pelvic fracture, among other injuries, and has yet to regain consciousness. She will have a long, difficult recovery.

 

Her parents, Santos, and Tina have taken a leave to be by her side in the ICU and take care of Abigail's 2-year-old daughter, Willow. While their benefits provide healthcare coverage and a portion of their salaries, it does not cover all the expenses they face.

 

Family and friends have reached out to ask, “How can we help?” Prayers, texts, calls, food, and gifts for Willow have comforted the family, but these expenses can be enormous and pile up quickly. We appreciate anything you can do to help Abigail during this crisis.
