Unexpected surgery for Samantha Morales

Hello, I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my cousins Sam and Travis. Travis has wrote out what Sam has gone through this past year.

Roughly a year ago Sam was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy. Month over month, her symptoms began worsening. Last week, the doctors took a few more scans to then find out she had a blockage in the 3rd ventricle in her brain. This was causing severe headaches, complete numbness to the right side of her face and constant blurred vision. The doctors feared if they waited any longer, Sams symptoms would progress or cause permanent damage. To our surprise, the doctors wanted to do immediate surgery called endoscopic third ventriclsotomy as they found she had hydrocephalus. Sam was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday 10/18 and underwent brain surgery she had to spend 2 days in the ICU and 1 day in standard care with a 4 to 6 week at home recovery. Sam has worked extremely hard the past 6 years to achieve her dream goal of becoming a teacher. With this being her first year as a teacher, she is missing so much time with her young students that she loves and misses so much, this is very devastating to Sam. Our insurance has helped out immensely however, with spending 3 days in the hospital and a specialized surgey, we have encountered a large medical bill. Currently, we are doing our best but anything will help. We appreciate all the love and support.
