Love For Alexis

#HELLO

I know the Coronavirus has impacted the lives of millions across the world; and here at home. My prayer’s are to the victims and their families.

My name is Rochelle Baker, my daughter Alexis Stovall, 34 years old. She has three beautiful children. At the time of this writing she is convalescing at the Glacier Hills Rehabilitation Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. On January 21, 2020 she had spinal surgery due to battling with (MRH) Multicentric Reticulohistocitosis, a disease that has no known cure, and unexpectedly has carried Alexis on a debilitating, painful, and aggressive journey over the past 5 years.

Alexis has been very focused on providing a decent lifestyle for her family before the surgery on her spine, and before this pandemic. She can no longer use her hands efficiently, walk, or turn her head. When she returns home, she’ll be stricken to her hospital bed, surrounded by medical care assistance, and equipment throughout the rest of her life.

Even though she have never been the type to ask for help, she is always willing to help someone else; if they need food to eat, a place to sleep, she is there , willing to help. I am in a humbled position, watching my daughter suffer through this health journey and am keeping the faith, that her “NEW NORMAL”  dream of holding her children; or combing their hair.

This request comes in a time that I know many of us are suffering economically and spiritually. I am cautious and hopeful in writing this. I am hoping to raise enough money to be able to purchase a wheelchair accessible van and a wheelchair ramp. The cost of $700.00 for the ramp would include: material, assembly and delivery from “Ramps for Handicap" in Brownstown, MI .  Additionally, the cost of the van can vary, depending on the year of the van, from $23,000 to $30,000 dollars.

The handicap ramp and van would provide the support and security needed for necessary transportation in emergency, and for medical needs.  Again, I know many of us are suffering in ways we’ve never expected, so any donation at all is greatly appreciated.

Your support would mean so much to Alexis to come home knowing that what she has endured is not in vain, and hopefully one day there will be a cure.  Her road to recovery are her children; they are her quality of life and seeing them, being able to hug them, to give and receive love will help heal her.
God bless you all, and the families and victims of the Coronavirus.

Thank you Go Fund Me.
Yours Sincerely,
Rochelle Baker on behalf of Alexis Stovall
