On May 14th of 2022, my brother, Daniel Tavares, was in a critical car accident. He suffers from a broken pelvic cup and a severely dislocated hip. He spent some time here at Hilo Medical Center, and thankfully, didn’t need to be medevacked to Oʻahu at this time, but that could still be a possibility depending on his situation. His hip has been re-set, but there’s a high chance of it coming back out again, which will require him to be airlifted to Queen’s for surgery.
It could be a long while until he recovers from this. He will be going through extensive physical therapy to help him to walk and strengthen his body while trying not to do any further damage.
As you can imagine, Daniel will be unable to go back to work for a while. With that being said, we don’t know what’s in store for him financially in the near future. It’s going to be really hard for him to deal with his medical expenses, get back on his feet, and go about living his life. On top of that, he still needs to manage all of his regular day-to-day and monthly bills — mortgage, utilities, food, household items, food and care for his pets, etc. (just to name a few). His truck was also totaled in the wreck, and that was his only means of transportation.
Our family is so thankful and grateful that God spared Daniel’s life. He gets to live, breathe, and face another day — all glory to God! Unfortunately, Daniel needs help. We are humbly asking for donations from anyone that would like to help him during this unexpected, difficult time.
Daniel would like to thank you from the bottom of his heart. He appreciates everyone for their support and for keeping him in their prayers.
Thank you!
