HQ pay for grad school!

Hello you heathens! As many of you know, I recently accepted an offer to attend the university of Chicago to pursue my masters in religious studies. The name is a bit of a misnomer as I’ll be studying the ancient languages/culture/history of Ancient West Asia.

I currently reside in California, so moving to Chicago is no small (or inexpensive task). While I did receive an 80% tuition scholarship (wow!) there’s still about $12k a year left in loans plus living expenses. I will continue to work albeit in a different capacity, while utilizing YouTube & TikTok to take y’all on this journey with me, sharing what I learn along the way. Y’all have become family to me so there’s no way you’re getting rid of me.

Those of you that have followed me for awhile know I grew up evangelical & left the church about a decade ago. I undid a TON of the harmful indoctrination through studying biblical scholarship written by the likes of Jeffrey Stackert & Simeon Cheval, who will be my advisors (what a dream right?)!

I plan to use this as a stepping stone to pursue a PhD & continue public facing scholarship in hopes that I can help combat misinformation, offer information & healing to those leaving religion, & generally just make scholarship to the general public.

So we are gang. On the cusp of our next great adventure.
