The Gonzalez Family

My heart is heavy, and my main thought is but God. I am reaching out to family, friends, strangers, and any and all who will read this post.

A huge part of my heart and my family’s is in the midst of the devastation and catastrophic events in WNC. Evan & Danielle Gonzalez with their three children live in Marion, NC. They have been left with a future that was unseen. They need our financial support as they navigate the road ahead. Their income was supported endeavors that are no longer an option for the foreseeable future.

Evan, who has had, a career in construction was told it would not be wise to continue in this line of work by medical professionals due to suffering in the past myopic degeneration (retinal detachment). He has had two major operations, several eye bleeds and cataract surgeries. He unfortunately just recently, after the storm, had another setback with his eyes (an eye bleed). These medical issues have also been ongoing and a financial strain. He has been working continuously helping out those within his community and also trying to get ahold of their own personal loss. They were in the process of opening a restaurant to provide income. The restaurant was flooded (see pics). They were just a few weeks away from opening to now not knowing when they will be able to open their doors to their community. Thousands of dollars of inventory has been lost. They are now having to rip out all the floors and walls and parts of the ceiling. The rebuilding process will now take time and money that was already previously invested. This restaurant is in the heart of North Cove and would be a huge support to their community.

I have spoken with Dani; she said the outpouring of love, generosity, and just the feeling of community has been nothing short of miraculous. The Gonzalez family has been instrumental in providing support to those in these desperate times, but they are going to need our help now.

I am asking and reaching out that you will answer this call to help and give whatever you feel led to give; any and all help will be a blessing and received with a grateful heart. I know we faced our own difficulties with Hurricane Milton. We will all get through this one day at a time. I am praying fiercely and fervently for you all. Please, any way you can financially support this amazing family will be remembered for years to come. Thank you from the bottom of my family’s heart. ❤️
