Mia's open heart surgery fund

My name is Lauren, I am Mia’s best friend. Mia and her family are in need for help with travel, lodging, and expenses as they travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in July for Mia’s 3rd open heart surgery. This is no small feat as Mia’s parents are both elementary teachers who have worked extremely hard throughout the year and summer sessions to help pay for this journey. Unfortunately, they are about $3,500 short of where they need to be to ensure they can all be there to support Mia through her surgery and recovery.

Mia is an amazing, intelligent, and dedicated friend, daughter, and person who has Pulmonary Atresia with Intact Ventricular Septum and Epstein’s Anomaly. She has endured 2 previous open heart surgeries (at 4 days and 9 months old) and by the grace of God, her donor valves lasted almost double what they should have. However, now Mia finds herself facing her 3rd open heart surgery in her 18 short years of life.
