Hello friends! I'm Kamila Aouchiche, I'm 19, and I'm from Fort Myers, Florida. I am currently a freshman at Florida State University. As some of you might know, music is a huge part of my life, and I have been working hard this year to prepare for auditions and go after my passion for music.
I am ecstatic and honored to announce that I have been accepted into the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival Summer 2016 Vocal Program! I have been cast as a flower girl in their production of Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro."
This opportunity is SO exciting and unique. It is a three week vocal program that would allow me to take lessons with a renowned vocal faculty, participate in recitals and masterclasses, and perform in my first ever live opera. This experience is an excellent way for me to grow as a vocalist and performer, and share my love for music with other passionate indivuals. I have created this page to help raise money for this incredible opportunity. The total cost adds up to $4,000 overall, which includes tuition, room and board, and transportation. I'm trying to pay for the majority of this amount on my own, earning as much as I can (by working/raising money in various ways) over the summer. However, the Festival begins in June, and time is of the essence! So I am asking for you to help me to begin funding this worthy experience in any way you can.
Last summer, I attended A Cappella Academy, a summer vocal program that changed my life and pushed me to pursue music. I can't express enough how thankful I am for that experience, and cannot believe I have been given another chance to expand my musical growth and perform in such an extraordinary setting.
