Hey all, my name is Emir, and I currently reside in San Diego, California.This gofundme is more so for my friends and family and for the people who are connected with them. Donations can be made to trusted NGOs such as Ahbap.org or to the government’s disaster response organization afad.gov.tr.
With the funds raised through this fundraiser, My goal is to find the best channels that will directly influence the lives of those who survived this awful disaster, and make sure to impact their lives in the best way possible that money allows us to do so.
Depending on how much I can raise, my current goal is to buy a container home for an entire family in the disaster affected region, so that one family does not have to be homeless in the middle of difficult winter circumstances.
At 4am local time, Turkey has recently been struck by two very devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 and 7.6. The impact has been widespread and many communities have been severely affected. 10 cities were directly impacted, thousands of buildings collapsed in a matter of minutes.
Many people didn’t even have the chance to escape, and the ones that did are now desperately waiting for help. In this difficult time, I am reaching out to ask for your support. Death toll is already 7k+, and more than 30k people are injured in the first 48 hours.
Many families will never recover from this, but I will do anything I can to make sure some gets the chance to do so. Any donation, no matter how small, will help provide much-needed aid to those affected by the earthquake. It will directly go to those who are affected in the forms of -from blankets, to thermal clothing items to female hygiene products to diapers. Shelter, electric and water as well as other essential needs.
The weather right now is in the negatives, and many, including babies and small children are still under rubbles trying to survive until someone comes for their help. Just can’t shake the feeling that it could have been me in that situation. Thus, it is my duty to be there for somebody in need.
