Our school community at Central Park Middle School has had the privilege to have a wonderful music teacher for the last two school years. She has made such a difference in the lives of her students with her contagious enthusiasm and passion for teaching. Ashley is currently dealing with a very challenging situation and can use our support.Ashley is a single mother of two beautiful children. She has a 14 year old son, and this past October she gave birth to a baby girl. Just as she was settling into her new role as a mom of 2, she was given some very distressing news. She was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in February 2023.Figuring out how to move forward has been challenging to say the least. Ashley has used all of her available sick days for the 6 weeks postpartum, and 3 weeks ago, started the long road of cancer treatment. This has required her to take extended time off of work again this school year. The severe chemotherapy and radiation treatments symptoms have caused illness requiring additional time off. After this current round of chemotherapy and radiation, she will have a few weeks off for recovery and then 4 months of intravenous chemotherapy. The treatments will be followed by surgery to hopefully remove whatever is still there. She has been told that all of this treatment is for a cure. Ashley is an amazing woman who is fighting the battle for her life and her children. If you are able to help towards this cause in any way, please help. No mother should have to go through this while trying to raise her children. She needs to be able to stay home, recover, and build strength for her comeback. All donations would be used for living expenses and treatment expenses. If you are able to donate, please consider. If you have any questions or would like to offer support in any way, please reach out to Katie Walters Thank you, Friend’s of Ashley Armer
