As a friend of the family, I was shocked to hear of 11-year-old Madison being rushed to the hospital. She has been in the hospital since Monday due to a virus that has damaged her liver, spleen, and gallbladder. She is anemic and has needed 24-hour care and support from her family, including her twin sister, Riley, who misses her and tries to make her laugh.

Madison’s mom, Frances, has been staying the night with her at UCLA to ensure she is safe and to answer questions when the staff comes in for testing. It’s not easy for them as both Frances and Justin have taken off work to help navigate this situation. My prayers are that she will recover quickly and the family can be back together again soon.
