Beth lost her condo in Minnesota in the economic downturn, but managed to keep working as a TelePrompter operator and put together some funds to eventually move to the warmer climate of Las Vegas. Friends assured her that they would help establish her in the prompter business out there, but through a series of unpredictable and unwelcome events, her life has unraveled. Today, she finds herself with no work, a rental house she can no longer pay for, trying to repay an emergency loan in order to hang on to her vehicle, looking for a seller for her gear and hoping to move and find work to support her and her beloved dogs - work that she can do with the arthritis that has left her hands and hips (one replaced) undependable. The road has been rough and she’s looking for hope.
The need is immediate. Money would be used to make upcoming January 1st monthly bills. Title Max truck loan ($500), vehicle insurance ($120), rent ($920), utilities ($400 to catch up on heat/AC), and some dog food. Any additional funds would be used towards moving. The costs are enormous, as you all know. First/last month's rent, damage deposit on a rental, deposit on utilities, cost of moving truck, gas, food, etc. It feels absolutely overwhelming.
If the campaign fund doesn't raise enough to cover costs, what is collected will be used for rental of a storage unit where possessions can be stored while staying in the truck or other location until the situation changes.
Beth is fully aware of how so many people have their own personal struggles, especially this time of year. It's hard for everybody. It is an extremely hard pill to swallow for someone who has had a weekly job and paid into Social Security since SECOND GRADE, thus being independent and self-sufficient almost literally her entire life. She's the one who has always donated to help others in need, and is completely uncomfortable having to ask for help.
Any amount would be greatly appreciated, and met with the most heart-felt gratitude. Thank you so much.
