Our sweet Alyssa (our “Hope” and beloved heart warrior) has faced a journey most children never have to imagine. At just six years old, she has already battled with her little heart every single day. Now, she’s preparing to take the next courageous step: transferring her care to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston to be listed for a life-saving heart transplant.
From the day she was born, Alyssa has shown us what true strength looks like. She’s been through multiple surgeries, long hospital stays, and countless doctor visits, yet she still greets every day with a smile that could melt anyone’s heart.
And even with everything she’s endured, Alyssa is still just a little girl who loves food (especially strawberries) . She lights up when she gets her favorite snack or when she helps in the kitchen. Those simple moments remind us that behind all the medical equipment and procedures is a joyful, curious, funny little girl who just wants to be a kid.
We live in Kerrville, Texas, about five hours from Houston, and the frequent travel for appointments, hospitalizations, and soon her transplant makes this journey even harder — emotionally, physically, and financially.
As Alyssa’s mom, I’ve had to make the difficult decision to step away from work to care for her full-time. Between hospital stays, frequent appointments, and preparing for her transplant, it’s impossible to maintain steady work hours. This has made it challenging to keep up with everyday expenses on top of mounting medical and travel costs.
We’re asking for help to support Alyssa’s care and keep our family stable during this journey. Every donation will go directly toward:
• Medical bills and transplant-related expenses
• Travel and lodging for our trips from Kerrville to Houston
• Basic living costs while I stay home full-time to care for her
• Recovery and follow-up care after transplant
Alyssa is our miracle, our light, and our reason to keep fighting. Your love, prayers, and support mean more than we can express.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing her story or keeping our little Heart Warrior in your prayers. Every share spreads hope, and every prayer lifts her higher.
From the bottom of our hearts … thank you for believing in Alyssa, for helping her fight, and for giving her a chance to grow up, laugh, and keep enjoying her strawberries.
