Never Stop Learning

Dear Colleagues,

We hope that you are currently enjoying the online classes, speaker series, and coffee chats offered by Never Stop Learning as we are off campus from our beloved LLI program.  As you probably know, the segue to Never Stop Learning was orchestrated by Amanda Atkins.  She has done this despite being furloughed by Immaculata University.  In the past sixweeks, while no longer the paid director of the program, she has voluntarily continued working in the same capacity.  What was a full-time job continued as a full-time volunteer endeavor from the goodness of her heart.  She knows how important it is to all of us to keep the program going in these unusual and difficult times.

Here is just a synopsis of what Amanda has worked on for us:

o   Kept all the data to enable us to stay in contact and continue with lifelong learning
o   Disseminated weekly emails that explore this program and also connect us to other online connections
o   Trained LLI members on using Zoom and other communications
o   Established weekly online coffee chats
o   Solicited presenters to continue the lunch time speakers series
o   Created the twice a week Speaker Series
o   Continued to format and disseminate the monthly newsletter
o   Solicited instructors for this semester’s 27 online classes
o   Created the schedule of classes
o   Created a first-class online catalog of classes
o   Answered the many, many emails from our large group
o   Continued to hold meetings with the advisory board

Therefore, we are setting up a GOFundME account so that we can show our appreciation for this work by Amanda; so that each of us can contribute in recognition of her commitment, making it possible for us to continue Life Long Learning. We hope to raise funds so that Amanda will have the time to continue to work on our behalf during this uncertain time for our Life Long Learning program. One of our members will match up to $1,000 in donations!  (and we hope others will follow suit.) Thank you for your participation in this effort.

Immaculata University is working through many issues during this pandemic period and the future of our program is very much up in the air. We would hope that with our continued interest and support, Immaculata will see fit to continue our program when it is safe to resume in person classes.

Sincerely, The Life Long Learning Board,

Ed Goll, Anthony Melusky, Anne Hearn, Roberta Matz, Sharon Richardson, Barbara Falini, Stanley Kotzen, Roberta McManus
