Our friend, Nicole, had a serious car accident in October 2024. After only 2 months of rehabilitation, she needed an additional cervical spinal fusion, which has added to the recovery and hardships that she was experiencing during the first emergency spinal fusion.
She has since had complications to her surgery, and is currently back in the hospital, after having a 3rd surgery.
These surgeries have left her homebound with the assistance of a walker. She is unable to bathe, drive, leave her home for doctor's appointments, etc. She remains unable to work and unable to receive any financial assistance to pay her mortgage, utilities, and basic needs like heat and food. She does not qualify for unemployment, FMLA, or short-term disability. This is because she was coming home from a pre-employment exam when she was hit from behind on Route 8, and they let her go after her 2nd day of orientation.
Recovery continues to be long and arduous, and ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED as she navigates the future. We are especially grateful for those who have contributed generously to date. Every little bit helps! Thank you!
