My Birthday : Donate to NMD United!

WHAT: It's my Birthday today (yay!) and although I love the fancy gifts my friends & family always give me, this year I request that instead you donate to NMD United!
WHO: NMD United is a non-profit that empowers adults with neuromuscular disabilities ("NMD"). NMD includes Spinal Muscular Atrophy and other disorders where people are often completely paralyzed neck down. This nonprofit is entirely run by adults with NMD and its mission is to empower the NMD community by connecting them and providing informational resources to allow them to live independent lives.
WHY:
My friend Dan: I discovered the challenges of living with NMD through my Harvard MPA classmate Dan Florio (see photo)! Dan is a fun and ambitious human rights lawyer from New Jersey who happens to also be a quadriplegic (and thus requires a 24/7 assistant).
Our Negotiations final project:
I met Dan as we were assigned to the same group in our Negotiations Class at Harvard. The final project is for us to choose a nonprofit and negotiate a donation for them and we selected NMD United as Dan personally knows its founders. Through my interactions with Dan and the nonprofit team I have been tremendously inspired by their determination, positive attitude and willingness to live independent lives!
Deadline: Our project is due very soon and we've raised $0 so far :( Hence, I thought that instead of getting countless gifts for my birthday, I would ask you to make me HAPPY by donating any amount (anonymously or not).
Don't you want to make me happy on my 29th Birthday? :)
