There is not many who live in the world today that have as big of a
Heart as my Cousin Gene. This past weekend Gene was admitted to the hospital and tomorrow he will have open heart surgery. This Go Fund Me is a plea for prayer and an ask for support, because no one deserves our attention more than Gene, and this is why......
Gene and his wife Trish have lived a life of hospitality. They have
opened the door of their home to many to not only provide a place of
comfortable and amazing food but also to provide a place to gather and celebrate. Gene discovered his God given gift of hospitality early in life and he was devoted to it. He mastered his cooking skills at home, in
camp grounds and even on the back of a truck tailgate when
huckleberry picking and river floats were the where friends gathered.
In times of wedding celebrations or in the sadness of family and friend’s funerals GENO brought his joy in cooking. It is his first line of showing how much he loves us. And Mmmmmmmm and his love is good! Whenever memories are relished most of them come to us in the form of “have you tried Geno’s hot wings, crepes, sushi, smoked chicken...” and more.
GENO has worked his entire life with the goal of making other people
happy FIRST and taking care of family. He is the most selfless person
and aspires to bring a smile to our face through not only his cooking but also through his song. Standing shirtless in his kitchen behind the stove top GENO rocks with spatula in hand, singing perfectly the words of
Journey, Reo Speedwagon, Guns and Roses and many more classic rock tunes. By far one of the greatest are when he and Cousin Dan would do their rendition of “The Great White Buffalo”. Or along with his son
Kane sing “Sweet Child of Mine”.
It’s impossible on one page to list all the times and all the people GENO has touched. But what is not impossible is to make the following ask.
GENO and Trish are the most proud and humble anyone would have
the privilege to know. They are givers not askers. Gene faces his
surgery tomorrow with the thought of “I need to get this over with so I can go back to work in two weeks”. He is a worked and hard laborer and because he always and only puts his family first this is how he thinks.
Well, he needs more time than two weeks but financial responsibilities make the prolonged recovery time tough.
It’s time people! Time for us to provide respite for Gene. He deserves
the return of our affection and love. We need him to take the time to
recover right and to do it with peace of mind in knowing that his bills
are taken care of. This world needs Gene’s heart to be healthy. It has a whole lot more to give and we need it to be strong. Whether you have
