Howard (Howie) McNutt, You will be missed.
I am writing to let you all know that my brother Howard, Howie, as many of you called him, was called home this past week. He had been battling depression along with severe medical conditions. Howard was a very private, strong-willed and stubborn man, but most of all was a loving and caring man. He was passionate about his truck as he was a trucker for most of his life. Howard also loved his Hard Rock.
Howard loved his truck, music, family and friends. In addition, he had a unique sense of humor. Howie wanted everyone to see him as the big strong Howard, which made him be in denial of his health. He kept up a wall and many things to himself and didn't want anyone to know how sick he had become.
On October 11, 1971, Howard was born to Mary Jean James-Kates and Charles Howard McNutt. He proceeded his death with a powerful bond with his dad Mr. Alton Kates, his only daughter Sophie McNutt, his oldest sibling and only sister Karen McNutt, his brother Charles (Chucky) James, brother Jeffery (Plug) McNutt, wife Marci McNutt, three step-sons: Timothy (Molly) Frost-Rasavong, Cody Figi-Frost and Benjamin Tiefel-Frost. Howard was a Christin attending church religiously with his grandmother Ms. Ola Mae James. Howard graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, NY. and attempted to serve in the Marine Core but was injured in boot camp. Early in his career he was employed by National Freight and Parry Trucking as well.
He was so serious about his trucking and knew everything about it. One of his friends said he knew more about hardcore bands, music, and shows than most hardcore heads. He was a true legend. Another friend said FACTS!! He changed lives in the neighborhood. Another close friend said he was a good person and friend and was unapologetically himself. Lastly, one that considered Howie his best friend stated they met in New York in the 11th grade and became friends instantly. He said they were both wierd in the same way, hung out everyday after school, after high school they were roomates and from time to time had many adventures, lots of ups and downs but threw it all remained very close friends. This friends story went on and on. I could tel that he and my brother had an genuine friendship and that he really loved him like a brother.
Howie had many, many friends, more than the average. It is with great honor that you all loved and cared for him the way that you do. On behalf of his family, we really appreciate you for the love, prayers and suppoet that has been shown. As you continue to pray for us we will pray for you as this weighs heavy on us all. However, EARTH has no sorrow that HEAVEN cannot HEAL. No more pain, depression, sickness or suffering.
We know that Howie didnt sit still and let grass grow under his feet. The Ol "Mad Dog" is now truckin in HEAVEN. He always said he was tough as nails. He fought a good fight and now HEAVEN has gained a great guy, father and friend.
FLY HIGH HOWARD (HOWIE) MCNUTT
