Picking up the pieces after a Fire

Donation protected
Hello everyone, our names are Trevor and Sadie and yesterday my Grandparents home burned to the ground. They are safe and in good health but this has been a devastating loss.

As Ted and Phyillis Howard's family, we are all getting together to try to pick up the pieces to what is now burned to ashes in a fire.

My grandparents were out to dinner with some friends when they got a call from their neighbor letting them know that their house was engulfed. The roof had already collapsed and several fire departments had already said that it was a total loss.

They moved to their farm in Sparta, Tennessee in 1975
In 1988 they began construction on this home and just recently finished doing a large remodel project.

My Uncle was raised in that house. When I was very small my parents and sister and I lived there with them for a while. After that as kids myself and sister would go every summer growing up and stay for weeks at a time. Their first question whenever they speak to us now is always "When are you coming home?"

This house has been the Family Home for all of the children and grand children.  We meet once a year for our big Thanksgiving celebration where all of us get together as a family to rejoice and celebrate life with one another. No matter when or what season it was, that house was always opened for us to come in and stay. That place has served all of us at one point in our lives.

We are extremely saddened to find out that Ted's best friend, partner, and cattle dog, did not make it out alive in the fire. Words can't explain how Ted's heart is feeling knowing his best friend is gone. Those that knew Scooter knew he was the smartest dog ever. He helped Ted with that farm the best way he knew how and of course as a loyal companion. There will forever be a special place in everyone's heart for Scooter.

The bible says, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28)

The bible says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Revelation 21:4)

In the end, we do realize that objects are just "stuff", however, there were over 20 years of sentimentality and we all know there are just some things that cant ever be replaced.

Ted has been running his farm and had all of his records on a computer and they are now lost. Their computers and personal documents will take some time to replace. They lost the farm truck and all that they have is the clothes they were wearing and the car they were driving. They have received assistance from their church and friends and family to meet their immediate needs.

There will be lost time at work, unexpected expenses and replacing the items lost. Any  donations will be more than appreciated. We ask that before making a monetary donation to pray and make sure that it is cheerfully given.

"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. "
(2 Corinthians 9:6-8)

Ted and Phyllis's faith in God is the true foundation that their lives are built on. We ask that above all that you donate your time in prayer for them and the family as we get through this and that God will show us his will for this situation. Even though we know this wasnt "good" that happened, we must trust God and KNOW he is good and to keep our eyes on him and he will show us the good.

"I love you, O LORD, my strength.
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised,
and I am saved from my enemies."
(Psalm 18:1-3)

Thank you everyone,

God Bless.
