I am starting this GoFundMe to help my parents, Annie and Howard. Annie and Howard have always centered their lives around family, from raising 5 kids of their own to later taking in their 4 grandkids, Lily, Manuel, Bella, and Benji. For the past 3 years, Annie has been the sole caretaker of these kids. Annie and Howard live in Lucerne Valley, where they lived on the same property as their sister Virginia and brother Jeff.

On August 23rd, around 6:00 pm, Jeff and Virginia's house caught fire, and Howard and Annie battled the fire and tried as hard as they could to contain it until the fire department arrived. Due to the fire, the electric company had to cut power to the property, leaving Annie and Howard without power or water. About a week after the fire, Howard was hospitalized with pneumonia and 2 collapsed lungs. On Sunday, August 31st, Howard was hospitalized and put on a ventilator, and put into a medically induced coma for now. Before Howard went to the hospital on August 31st, he was receiving treatment for prostate cancer. While Howard's recovery looks good, he will need a place to recover, and for Annie to provide care for their 4 grandkids.

I am asking for help for my parents because they aren't really the type to ask for help. But they are usually one of the first people to offer help, from Howard fixing family and friends' cars, and Annie offering to help in whatever she can, from cooking meals for family and friends to taking care of kids. Any help would be appreciated. We'd like to raise enough money for them to get into a rental for at least a year and not have to worry too much about bills, so they can focus on Howard's recovery, and Annie can focus on not only taking care of Howard but also caring for her grandkids.
