March 29, 2025 Update:

We're happy to share that Marie is out of the ICU at HCMC. It's been just over a week since her massive traumatic brain injury and craniotomy and she's making great progress.

She's strong and determined to get home to her four children but it's going to take time. There's a long road of rehabilitation ahead of her.

Dear Friends and Family,

This is difficult news to share: Marie Ertresvaag suffered a severe traumatic brain injury Thursday night after a fall at her home. She lost consciousness and was rushed by ambulance to HCMC, the nearest Level 1 Trauma Center, for emergency surgery. She's in the ICU and being treated for a massive subdural hematoma.

There's a long road ahead.

As many of you know, Marie is the single mom of four -- ages 20, 17, 14, and 11 -- two of whom have special needs, all of whom are in her care full time.

She's also: your niece or cousin; your high school, college, work, or mom friend; your neighbor; your colleague; or someone you've met only a handful of times but whose huge smile and blue eyes have brightened your day.

You've asked how you can help, and that's why we've created this GoFundMe.

Impending medical expenses, cost of treatments, medications, and hospital visits are adding up fast. As you can imagine, this is a heavy burden physically, financially, and emotionally.
