A Way to Support The El Cerrito 4th of July Celebration: 17 Years and Counting!
For the past 17 years, our family, and many volunteers, have been proud to organize a 4th of July celebration that brings joy and togetherness to the El Cerrito community. This event has grown over the years, becoming a beloved tradition for many families. While we've always been fortunate to receive generous donations, the initial expenses come out of our family's pocket, and our goal each year is to break even.
Thank You for The Generosity in 2024
At the end of the 2023 celebration, we ended up with a deficit of nearly $1,300. But, due to neighbors' generous donations in 2024, the deficit was erased and the event broke even for 2024. This included a $600 donation from the sale of Liz's Abeyta original oil painting (https://www.elcerrito4th.com/el-cerrito-4th-of-july-8203original-painting-silent-auction.html) and nearly $1,500 from a GoFundMe campaign.
You can see the financial recap on the El Cerrito 4th Website.
How You Can Help
Neighbors continue to ask how they can support the festivities over the 3rd and 4th. The movie night on July 3rd has turned into a fabulous block party for the whole family. To make this night such an amazing experience, we do need to rent professional sound and projector equipment. A small contribution from each of you can help us offset these expenses and ensure that the 3rd and 4th of July celebrations continue to be a highlight of the year.
Any amount, big or small, makes a difference. Every dollar contributed will go directly towards covering the costs of event-related expenses.
We really appreciate your support and look forward to celebrating another fantastic Fourth of July with you. Thank you for helping us keep this tradition alive! - The Widmer Family
