How We Talk To Ourselves Book for NAMI, No Kid Hun

Donation protected
How We Talk To Ourselves is an illustrated mini guide to using the practice of positive self-talk to radically transform one's inner thought life. It is a critical tool useful to SUPPLEMENT psychological and psychiatric treatment in order to overcome anxiety, depression, comparison with others-ism, and more.

The writer is Joan Lee, a young professional who used this practice to overcome general anxiety, social anxiety, and major depressive disorder, stemming from isolation and stigma that accompanied two schizophrenic episodes she experienced in her late twenties. For Joan, it took about 3 months to achieve stability and 6 months to be able to no longer need this practice. For more on her personal story go here: https://www.asianmhc.org/advancing-asian-mental-health/how-we-talk-to-ourselves-matters

The illustrator is Connie Van, an NYC-based graphic designer and artist, who recognized the importance of mental health as she healed from her childhood challenges.
