The nightmare ends here. We have two weeks left. Fourteen days that will tell the life and death consequences of the mental health crisis that is the American healthcare system.

Our friend has survived sustaining a war from the inside out in pursuit of ending gender based violence the world over, including in some of the most hostile regions, domestically and internationally. In this stand off to rally hope over abominable circumstances and survival statistics, we are raising the money necessary to access crisis trauma restorative and rehabilitative mental health justice. This means filling in the undoing socioeconomic politics of who survives and perishes in the limbo of structural violence with immediate emergency support. The very fact that our friend’s labor has gone unnoted and unnoticed, while single handedly protecting the most vulnerable, guiding communities at immediate risk of mortal danger away from gender political crises, into resettlement and ensuring their immediate social safety, speaks volumes. Now we’re filling that void between where they refused to leave anyone behind and ensuring they themselves aren’t left behind.

We are backing several months of immediate restorative full psychophysiological crisis intervention care at a distinguished healthcare outpatient facility, the Ross Center for Trauma & Mental Health Treatment.

As distinguished by the center’s website: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: Diagnosis & Treatment: “Like many mental health practices in our area, are out-of-network and do not participate in any insurance plans. Insurance companies put many constraints on mental health providers that limit our ability to offer the highest quality care to our patients.“

We are not waiting to let our friend fall through the cracks anguishing in crisis awaiting a fatal outcome before we act.

Cost Breakdown of our campaign approximate value of:

Several days a week of outpatient extensive evaluation and therapy estimated to be more than USD $300+per day, including once a week psychological evaluation and medication management USD 450+ by an accredited psychiatrist specializing in treating PTSD.

Three plus months estimated total of USD $6,500+.

Transportation fees depend on accessibility, estimated USD $135+.

Medications: 150 mg of one medication and another 10mg medication estimated combined in between insurance to cost around $519+ for a supply of 30 capsules for three months.

We are covering the safe relocation and resettlement of our friend including traveling costs, three months of rent (USD $ 800/month), utilities (est. USD $50-75/month), food and basic necessities. Plus latitude for professional adjustment and necessities to reintegrate into doing the work they are passionate about in a new capacity.

This is a friend, a human being, a pioneer, and a warrior who has sacrificed themselves in the largest human rights crisis in history on multiple fronts, unceasingly and without flinching putting his body in mortal danger. They have then dragged themselves across lines saving lives until their body could no longer operate the capacity of gravity thrust upon it. They have spent years disintegrating as they put every life they could in front of their own, until their quality of life diminished.

They came into this fight already bleeding from the wounds of early childhood trauma which set them in motion to confront histories, creating communities between partners and people, where it didn’t exist and finding a way to smile, until that was robbed of them too.

We are not sitting on our hands while our friend anguishes in a corner. We will not allow this to continue any longer without the restorative whole body treatment that the crisis humanely necessitates in recognition of the mental health medical rights inherent in the dignity of personhood and humanity behind the affliction who has silently suffered it out on the sidelines until they courageously spoke up.

CPTSD requires multiple months into years of therapy. This is about a fighting chance at standing again.

They have one dream, aside from applying their experiential professional passion for the work through an accessible mode of participation. They dream of walking on a beach again and going out for one night with friends without fear. That shouldn't be something anyone should have to dream of in a time of peak consciousness of the socioeconomic and political injustices of systematic alienation and marginalization of peoples with disabilities.

Let’s make this healing happen.
