Help me change the UK PhD in Edinburgh

In September 2021, I graduated from King's College London with a Master's degree in International Political Economy and immediately focused on preparing my PhD application. After moving to England, pursuing a career in research was my life goal. After my studies in Poland, France and England, I clearly saw the signs of a political crisis brewing in the United Kingdom. In January 2022, the University of Edinburgh offered me a chance to pursue a PhD degree in Politics. It was a dream come true for me. A chance to contribute to the life of the society in which I live.
Unfortunately, financial problems turned out to be a big obstacle. Due to my immigration status, I am not eligible for a PhD loan. I have always planed to combine studies with part-time work to cover my living expenses. I worked at every stage of my education, but the total financial burden is too heavy after adding the costs of tuition. For me and my family.
By using the method of crowdfunding, I am asking for support. Every little donation and sharing of this page is of great help to me. The amount I am trying to raise will fully cover the cost of my tuition.
Why would you like to support my PhD project?
Political tensions between England and Scotland or cities and the countryside disunite our Kingdom. Perhaps by making the political system more inclusive for the parts of the UK that feel neglected by the centre, we could defuse these tensions. By pursuing my project, I want to establish whether the political system in the UK can be changed.
In a nutshell, I want to conduct surveys in Manchester and Scotland concerning people's attitudes towards expanding their regional autonomy from Westminster. By interviewing people from two different parts of the UK, I expect to learn what kind of a political settlement would satisfy both groups. I believe that granting Manchester and Scotland greater autonomy and better representation in Westminster would improve the governance of the UK. This model could also be applied to other parts of the Union.

We wrześniu 2021 roku ukończyłem studia magisterskie na King’s College London, ekonomia polityczna, i od razu skupiłem się na przygotowaniu aplikacji do doktoratu. Po przeprowadzce do Anglii praca naukowa była moim życiowym celem. Po studiach licencjackich w Polsce, stażach studenckich we Francji i w Niemczech wyraźnie widziałem kryzysowe problemy narastające w Zjednoczonym Królestwie. W styczniu 2022 roku Uniwersytet w Edynburgu zaproponował mi zrobienie doktoratu na ten temat. Było to spełnienie moich marzeń i szansa na wniesienie wkładu w życie społeczeństwa, w którym żyję.
Niestety, barierą okazały się problemy finansowe. Ze względu na mój status emigracyjny nie przysługuje mi kredyt doktorancki na czesne. Planowałem połączyć go z dodatkową pracą na koszty utrzymania. Pracowałem na każdym etapie mojej edukacji i zrobię wszystko, aby osiągnąć cel, ale całkowity ciężar finansowy jest zbyt duży. I dla mnie, i dla mojej rodziny.
Korzystając z metody crowdfunding staram się się o wsparcie na koszty czesnego. Każda najdrobniejsza wpłata na tej stronie jest dla mnie cenna, tak samo jak każde przekazywanie tej strony. Kwota, którą zbieram, w pełni pokryje trzyletnie koszty czesnego.
Dlaczego możesz chcieć wesprzeć mój projekt doktorski?
Napięcia polityczne między Anglią a Szkocją, między miastami a wsiami, rozbijają Zjednoczone Królestwo. Gdyby udało mi się zbadać przyczyny tych napięć, ustalić, jaki rodzaj porozumienia politycznego oczekiwany jest przez mieszkańców skonfliktowanych regionów , byłby to duży krok w kierunku zmiany sprawiedliwszego systemu politycznego. Zakładam, że przyznanie Szkocji i Manchesterowi większej autonomii i lepszej reprezentacji w Westminsterze zmniejszy konflikty i napięcia.
Realizując mój projekt, najogólniej ujmując, chcę zbadać, czy i jak można zmienić system polityczny Wielkiej Brytanii.
Wiem, że temat moich badań dotyczy także innych krajów europejskich, systemy polityczne nie spełniają społecznych oczekiwań, moim marzeniem jest mieć wpływ, nawet mikroskopijny, na szukanie dobrych rozwiązań.
