How Love Shows Up for Cissy

This is a campaign of love and support for Christine "Cissy" White. The sole purpose is to channel love to her in ways that are most needed, most helpful, and, frankly, give her the most peace of mind . She had surgery, received a diagnosis and started chemotherapy for advanced ovarian cancer...all in a six-week window.
If you know her, or of her, there is no need to read further. You already know what a bad-ass she is, you know her light is brighter than most, and you know accepting the idea of this page took some talking through. You know she already put a thoughtful plan together for chemo buddies, a nutrition regimen, time for research, pre-chemo yoga, mediation and guided imagery. If cancer could be planned or researched away, it would already be gone. If it could be loved away, it would've disappeared.
You're right if you think a hand-written note of love, or the gift of an inspirational quote or poem would fill her heart. It will. But, you also know her plate is as full as her life. She is a busy working Mother. She runs a home. She's a pencil slinging warrior, activist, voice and leader in the ACEs world. She is a healing voice for thousands and has just added "beat cancer" to her list of to-dos. Every moment she is feeling good should be spent with Kai, Ella, writing, working or napping.
I knew people would want to express some way to help her and show love and support. I know people want her to know they are thinking of her. And, since I'm more of a tactical problem-solving get-shit-done kind of responder, the best way I can be helpful is to create the way for people to make life a tiny bit lighter through the alternative therapies, and a way to leave messages.

Housekeeping and yard cleaning! Yep. No one going through chemo should worry about it. Someone is now coming to the house to make sure the germs stay out, and her immune system stays strong. She didn't love this idea at first. But let's be real...yes, lots of people offered to come and clean. But, company? Especially if you feel terrible? Nah...we all know she'd get dressed and pre-clean for any of us who tried, so let's just let her relax and check this one off the list.
Acupuncture. Committed to combining Eastern and Western medicine for the best possible outcome, this is a modality that she would do regularly.
Massage Therapy. As a complication from surgery, there's some nerve damage and pain that's she managing, that could benefit from healing touch.
Nutrition! It will help supplement to cost of over the counter supplements, medicine copays, smoothies, shakes and soups, too.

So, let's do this and help take some of the incidentals, things moms would normally consider a "splurge", and fund them for her. Lets keep the cortisol levels low, the neuro transmitters firing and the immune system functioning optimally, by eliminating a financial barrier before it happens. Let's let her focus on health, chemo and...maybe a few new noggin' covers.
