Hi everyone… my name is Lexus.

I'm just a little kitten, and I had a really scary accident.

I was playing in my foster home's bedroom, somewhere I've played lots of times before. I love climbing and exploring, and everyone thinks I may have slipped or fallen behind the headboard of the bed.

Nobody knows exactly what happened, but somehow my poor little tail got caught or bent, and it broke.

My foster mama found me with my tail badly injured and hanging limp. It was so scary, and I didn't understand why it wasn't working anymore.

When the vet examined me, they discovered that my tail was broken about two-thirds of the way down. The damaged part can bend at a funny angle, and I can't feel or move it anymore.
They say it can't be fixed.

I need emergency surgery to have part of my tail amputated before the injury causes even more problems.
Right now, I'm staying in a cage at the sanctuary so I don't accidentally hurt myself while I wait. But I'm a kitten! I want to run and jump and wrestle with my friends!

So instead, I spend my days calling out to the volunteers, asking them to come give me some love. And they do! I'm a very snuggly little girl, and those cuddles make everything a little less scary.
My surgery is scheduled for Friday, and I urgently need your help!

I'm scared of having surgery, but everyone promises that once I've healed, I'll still be able to do all the wonderful things kittens do.

I might have a shorter tail, but I'll still be me!

Could you please help Pet Patrol pay for my surgery? Every donation or share brings me closer to feeling better.

I didn't mean to hurt myself. I was just being a kitten. And all I want is the chance to be one again.

With tiny, hopeful purrs,
Lexus
