Hi, we need your help. Today, one of our friends received the kind of news no 27 year old should have to hear.

He has been fighting Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) for the last year. During this year he has had to endure gruelling chemotherapy treatments, a bone marrow transplant and numerous hospital visits to try and overcome this aggressive form of cancer. Heartbreakingly, he has gone into remission twice but unfortunately relapsed each time.

Now the NHS can no longer offer PJ a chance to build a future with his fiance Maisie. They have reached the end of the line when it comes to treatments through the NHS and the timeline for Pj without life saving treatment abroad is at worst a couple of weeks. Pj has opted in to receiving steroid treatments which will not cure the cancer but will hopefully give him more time to be able to seek treatment abroad.

We refuse to sit by and watch a clock run down simply because of money. While options here are exhausted, there are advanced specialists and precision clinical trials in the United States that are specifically designed to target this exact genetic mutation.

However, the barrier to entry is immense. The upfront fee for a US oncology center to urgently review his complex medical files and conduct an emergency consultation is $30,000.

We want to be entirely transparent: there are no guarantees. We do not know for certain what the US doctors will say, or if his body can tolerate a new program. But we know with absolute certainty that we cannot let a $30,000 price tag be the reason Pj doesn't even get the opportunity to try.
