Honoring Mike Tallarida

On October 10th, Mike Tallarida, a man we all knew and loved, was taken from us all. Mike was a loyal friend, devoted coach, wonderful son and brother, and above all else, a family man. Mike’s two kids, Brynn and Michael, were his pride and joy. He and his beautiful wife Nicole did anything they could for their two kids and put their needs above all else. Mike also took many people under his wing, family or not. He didn’t have to have a blood relation to someone in order to take care of them like his family, as that was the type of man Mike was.

We also know that Mike didn't do things looking for credit. And what we've since learned are countless stories of him helping people without anyone knowing. Paying for a kid that he coached to play hockey who wasn't able to. Helping a former co-worker who fell on hard times when he needed it the most. Did Mike have the kind of means to do those things? No, but that didn't matter. He just worked harder and "figured it out,” like Tals always would.

Mike always made sure to put his two children in the best position for them to succeed. And now they are successful and motivated young adults, both about to begin new chapters in their lives.

Brynn is in her last semester at Temple University and actively applying to graduate school to become a physician assistant. She is currently a medical assistant at a Dermatology Office.

Michael graduated from The Haverford School and recently committed to Hamilton College where he will continue his academic and baseball career.

If Mike was reading this about a friend of yours, he would be the first to give what he could. Because he worked hard to provide for his family, but also knew that life can be unpredictable, and we all can help each other out sometimes.
