How Nell & Noah got their Mama back .. 2

Hello everyone,
I truly wish I didn’t have to write this, and it breaks my heart that I have to, but here we are…

As some of you may know, Ewa bravely battled stage 3 breast cancer 11 years ago and lung cancer at the same time. As some of you who are close friends of the family and other who followed Ewa's journey, know, with her incredible strength, she fought hard through treatments and many surgeries and eventually found herself on the path to remission.

As a devoted mother to her two incredible children, Nell and Noah, who she loves with everything she has, and a wife to her wonderful husband, Greg, who is her rock, she filled their lives with warmth, laughter, and so much love. Life was moving forward with hope and healing. Ewa was even able to start working. But last year her health started going down. She developed an infection which left her weak and unable to continue working. Her weakened state led to another infection where she ended up in the hospital. That continued for several months where finally her doctors recommended more tests and scans. Unfortunately, the PET scan revealed a nodule on Ewa’s lung. Doctors suspected malignancy, metastasis of breast cancer. Concerned, her care team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center(MSKCC) in New Jersey urged her to fly from Florida, where her family now lives, to NJ for further testing. Due to its location near her heart, doctors opted to surgically remove the mass immediately without a biopsy.
Ewa underwent lung surgery on April 1st. The nodule was successfully removed and sent for testing. We were all clinging to hope that this would turn out to be a noncancerous infection, nothing serious. The results shattered our hopes and confirmed our worst fear: Stage 4 metastatic Brest Cancer!!!
The news was devastating. The fear of what lies ahead, the thought of her children growing up without their mother, was absolutely overwhelming. Horrifying experience from 11 years ago became reality again.. As if that wasn’t enough, the biopsy also revealed signs of an aggressive form of the disease.
Post-surgery, Ewa’s journey took an even more challenging turn. The treatments and her weakened state left her with a wiped-out immune system, which made her extremely vulnerable to catching dangerous infections and led to severe sickness. There are days where she is so weak that she cannot even drive a car or cooking a simple dinner seems like a mission. The constant travel between Florida and New Jersey became unsustainable, and a risk she could no longer take. It was draining her strength and exposing her to more illness. To prioritize her health and reduce these dangers, her care has shifted closer to home at Tampa General Hospital in Florida, where she can receive treatment, ongoing monitoring, and support without the added strain of long-distance flights.

Despite the heartbreak, Ewa is preparing to fight again—with everything she has. However, her health insurance is falling short, which is horrible, refusing to cover many of the regular treatments, labs, and specialized care she desperately needs. In her search for hope, Ewa is turning to integrative treatment therapy with Dr. Jade Robins (who has been trained by Dr. Nasha Winters), a treatment that could give her a fighting chance. But this treatment comes at a very high cost. From pricey tests , High-dose IV vitamin C infusions to bolster her system, UV blood irradiation to target viruses,
Hyperbaric oxygen chamber sessions, Mistletoe injections to strengthen her immune system, etc... On top of that, she also relies on very pricey custom-formulated supplements, that aren't available over the counter.
A nutritionist ($1,700 every 4 months) who monitors her blood to optimize her diet against cancer, and weekly acupuncture to stimulate her immune system. Tragically, her insurance doesn’t cover any of these critical treatments.
Those costs are overwhelming.
On top of it, ongoing medical bills are slipping into collections.
Greg, as the family’s sole provider, is working two jobs just to keep up, but with the mounting expenses from treatments, travel, therapies, and everyday bills, they simply can’t cover it all.
Every month is an uphill battle.

Through it all, Ewa’s spirit shines. She still finds moments to smile with her children and hold her family close.
